Q: In the USA what happens when the tour arrives in New york and ends?
A: This is the end of the tour, you leave Washington dc, head through Philadelphia and then arrive in new york. You get driven to the hotel that contiki uses. The coach stops, you grab your stuff and if you have booked at the hotel you go in and check in, if not, there is a metro station down the street and to the left. As a group you may catch up later that night, but that is all, the tour is done. You will also get any t shirts or water bottles as well.

Q: It is easy getting around New york City?
A: This is very easy to do, you can walk around to areas that you want to see that are close by or you can catch the metro. This runs often, is cheap and gets you to most places. You could catch a taxi, but they are more expensive then the metro. Busses are also a good way to get around. Just don't drive as there is too much traffic and not many places to park.

Q: How long should i stay in New york before or after my tour?
A: New york has lots to offer from parks, museums, sights, cruises, musicals and theater to shopping. There is lots to do. If you were to stay a week and rushed around you may see a good chunk, but it depends on what you want to see and do. Staying in new york is also expensive, so you must put that into consideration.

A: Yes there are, but there are not ones everyday. They are a bit harder to find. However they are just as fun as any London or Berlin ones. Search online to find them. There are some in the Village and some around times square. The usual, free drinks upon entry (a shot usually), cheaper or discounted drinks.

A: It is an interesting place, lots to see. You can do a few walking tours here and explire the area. This area has also been in a few movies and tv shows. There are some interesting food places here, so you can do a food tour. Overall it is just another area of new york, but it is not really on the main grid system, it has its own grid system and its own history. It also has interesting shops and restaurants.

A: There are multiple ways of doing this. Taxi – is a flat fare to the city, but you need to add on tips, tolls and taxes to the price. You could get a transfer from the airport. The other way is going by subway. Head up to the sky-train, use this to get to the subway stop and then use the subway to head into the city. It is the cheapest, but takes the longest. This is mainly for JFK.

A: It is not that easy, some hotels or hostels may have laundry, but most don't, the best bet is to go to a laundromat, but they are also hard to find. It is not as easy here as it is in Europe.

There are lots to choose. Are they worth it? Yes, because you will choose them based on your interests, therefore they will be what you want to know about. Most go from 1 hr to half a day and cover lots.

A: This is a very large park, there is lots to see and do in it. You can hire a bike and go on the bike paths around the park, you can walk around the park, covering different sections. The park is too large to be explored in 1 day. See the castle, the fields, the various walks and gardens. It is a nice place to spend time. Also go to the zoo if there is time. Another way is a horse and carriage ride.

A: New york uncovered is a 3 day, 3 night. sort of tour, it is a sort of tour, in that there is no tour manager, just a rep to help you where you need it. There is a chance to see and explore the city. There is a group dinner, but you spend the time doing what you want anyway. Is it worthwhile? As it covers the city in a short time and you see the basics, it is good for those that want that, otherwise, spend a week by yourself and see more.

A: New york accommodation is expensive and books up fast. Book as soon as you know you will be there. Don't wait until you are in the USA to book as you may be dissapointed.

A: Both these cities have some great musicals and shows. Take a night and go see one. They are all over the city and many types to suit all tastes. You can get tickets online or at the various cheap ticket booths around the city – usually at times square on around Trafalgar square.

A: Food trucks are located where there is lots of tourist or people in general. They have good quick food. Street food like hot dogs should be kept away from as they are not always clean. Stick to the food trucks.

A: New york is on a grid, so as long as you know which avenue is which, you will be find. Unless you are at the bottom of the island, where there is no grid. However there are maps all over the city.

A: Times square, natural history museum, central park, the met, wall street, statue of liberty, greenwich village rockerfeller centre, empire state building, food tours, using the subway and just generally walking around and shopping.
