Contiki FAQ - General Germany

Q: On a Contiki travelling through Germany, do you make many stops at towns?
A: Apart from the sleeping stops, main stops in Germany occur at road side rest stops. You do visit the occasional town such as Dresden, but mainly it is the rest stops and the main cities where you will sleep or explore.

Q: What does contiki see and do in St Goar?
A: St Goar is on the Rhine river. The coach arrives in the town, you head to the beer stein place, you can purchase some steins, walk around the shop and then explore the town, see the cookoo shop etc. Your tour may then do wine tasting where you can try some ice wine and purchase some. Later you may have an included dinner or a walk about dinner, then head to the hotel for an early night as you may have Amsterdam in the next few nights, or you may have come from there.


Q: How long is nuremberg by train from Munich?
A: It is about a 2- 2.5 hr trip by train.

Q: How far is the nazi party rally grounds from the centre of nuremberg?
A: It is about a 10 minute drive from the centre of the city. Or there is a bus. There is lots to see here including a museum, so plan to spend a few hours here.

Q: What is the best way to get around Nuremberg?
A: The best way is to walk around, as everything in the centre is close together. For anything further away, get on a city bus.

Q: In Hannover, is it easy to get around?
A: If you are staying in the city centre, then you can walk around the city centre quite easily. You many need a car to go further.
