Contiki FAQ - Cars and train by yourself

Q: I want to hire a car in Europe, is this easy?
A: Officially you need an international drivers licence, but most places will accept any form of license as long as you are the right age. This way you can hire cars, buggy's, scooters, and quad bikes. Driving on the right hand side is no problem either.

Q: In the UK is it better to book trains before hand or show up on the day.
A: It is far better to book in advance, these are the times you get cheaper tickets. Book up to 12 weeks in advance and save lots. However turn up on the day and pay full price. Book online and get some good discounts.

Q: How easy is it to use public transport in Europe?
A: It is very easy, usually just get a ticket and hop on the train or bus and go where you need to go. There are some cities where it is a bit harder then that, but overall it is cheaper then a taxi. It is also a better chance of exploring a city. In some cases you have to validate your ticket, but that is easy to do.
